Isaiah 6: A Vision That Changes Everything
In Isaiah 6, Isaiah encounters God in His holiness, glory, and majesty. In a moment when Israel was facing uncertainty and fear, Isaiah saw that God was still seated on His throne; unshaken, sovereign, and completely in control. But seeing God rightly also forced Isaiah to see himself rightly. In the presence of God's holiness, he recognized his own sinfulness and his desperate need for grace.
Yet when Isaiah couldn't reach grace, grace came to him. God provided atonement for Isaiah's sin, pointing us to the heart of the Gospel: we cannot save ourselves by trying harder or becoming good enough. Jesus took our guilt and made a way for us to be forgiven and transformed.
Seeing God rightly changes everything. It leads us to a life of grateful obedience, genuine worship, and ongoing transformation as we respond to the grace we've received.
